Needles to say, Kyoto is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Japan and so is Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto.
This is the stage of Kiyomizu, about which there is a saying, "Jumping off the stage of Kiyomizu." They say that a wish would be granted to those jumping off the stage ........ if they made it alive. This saying is used to mean making a big decision. For example, "I'll buy this, being as ready as to jump off the stage of Kiyomizu" or "I'll jump off the stage of Kiyomizu and take the job offer."
Some of you may want to jump off the stage of Kiyomizu (metaphor) and visit this temple, but never ever actually jump off the stage there!!!

言うまでもなく京都は日本でもっとも有名な観光地の一つで、同じく清水寺は京都でも有数の観光地ですね。
写真は清水の舞台で、これに関連する「清水の舞台から飛び降りる」という諺がありますよね。この舞台から飛び降りた者は願いが叶うと言われていたようです．．．生きていればですが。この諺は大きな決断をするという意味で使われています。たとえば、「清水の舞台から飛び降りるつもりでこれを買う」とか「清水の舞台から飛び降りて求人に応じようと思う」といった感じ。
（注：ほぼ”当たり前”の情報で申し訳ないのですが、なにせ海外の方向けの説明の訳なのでどうぞご容赦を）
清水の舞台から飛び降りて（比喩）清水寺に行きたいと思う方もいらっしゃると思いますが、決して本当に舞台から飛び降りないようにしてください！！！
